If you haven’t read Tom Friedman’s “Hot, Flat, and Crowded”, I highly recommend it. I used it in the course I taught at the University of Pittsburgh (Graduate School of Public and International Affairs) PIA 2755 Regional Development and the Global Economy. It will get you thinking on what businesses and regional organizations must do to address the confluence of factors in our future: global climate change, population growth, and the continued rise of the middle class globally.
